About our Toyota Prado suspension upgrades

We stock around 80 Prado suspension parts for the 90, 120, 150 and 250 Series, from CalOffroad Platinum, CalOffroad Nitro Pro, Fox, Bilstein and Polyair. Every Prado generation uses independent front suspension with coil-over struts and a coil-sprung live axle at the rear, so most upgrades come down to matched front struts, rear coils and shocks rated for the weight you carry.

Many Prados are fitted with KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), which links the front and rear sway bars hydraulically. KDSS vehicles need parts listed for KDSS, so check your vehicle before you order. Kakadu models also have their own listings.

A practical tip: a touring Prado with a bar, drawers, a fridge and a full fuel tank can carry several hundred kilograms more than stock, so choose rear coil springs by the weight you carry every day. Past a 2-inch lift, plan for upper control arms and a diff drop to keep your camber and CV angles in check. Lifts over 50mm usually need engineering approval, so check the rules in your state. Choose your Prado below, or call us on 1300 225 494 for fitment help.

Prado suspension FAQs

Does my Prado have KDSS, and does it matter?

It matters. KDSS changes how the sway bars mount, so lift kits and some suspension parts are different for KDSS vehicles. KDSS was fitted to many 120 and 150 Series Prados, depending on the grade and year. If you're not sure, look for the KDSS hydraulic rams on the front and rear sway bars, or call us with your VIN. Then shop Prado 150 with KDSS or Kakadu with KDSS.

Do Prado 120 suspension parts fit the Prado 150?

Not always. The 120 and 150 share a similar layout, but spring rates, strut lengths and mounting points differ between generations. Select your exact series above to see only the parts that fit.

What about Prado suspension returns?

All Prado suspension return requests require before and after height measurements from the centre of the wheel to the guard at each corner. Final heights are estimates and change with the load your vehicle carries. If you're not happy with the ride quality, check your tyre pressures, the weight in the cargo area and any roof load, then contact us so we can help work out whether you need anything extra.

Do you offer installation services for Prado parts?

While CalOffroad doesn't offer direct installation services, we can provide you with comprehensive instructions and support to guide you through the installation process. If you're not comfortable doing the installation yourself, we recommend consulting a qualified mechanic experienced with off-road vehicle modifications.
