About our Subaru suspension upgrades

We stock a focused range of Bilstein B8 TerraSport shocks for the Subaru Forester, Outback and XV. TerraSport is Bilstein’s raised-height option for all-wheel-drive wagons and crossovers. It gives 1 to 2 inches of extra ride height, depending on the model and whether the shock is front or rear, plus firmer damping than standard.

These shocks suit owners who regularly drive gravel roads, beach tracks or fire trails and want more clearance without changing how the car behaves on the highway. Fitment changes between model years, so every shock is listed for specific Forester, Outback and XV generations. Check the fitment notes on each listing.

A practical tip: Bilstein sells TerraSport front shocks as separate left and right units. For a full set, order one front left, one front right and a pair of rears, all for your exact model years. Choose your Subaru below, or call us on 1300 225 494 for fitment help.

Subaru suspension FAQs

Do I need to buy the left and right front shocks separately?

Yes. Bilstein makes TerraSport front shocks as side-specific units, so each side is its own listing. For a complete set, add one front left, one front right and a pair of rears for your model years.

Will 2010 – 2014 Outback shocks fit my 2015 – 2019 Outback?

No. The two generations use different shocks, and the lift heights differ too. Shop Outback 2010 – 2014 or Outback 2015 – 2019 to see only the parts that fit.

Where is the rear shock for my 2018 – 2020 XV?

It’s listed on the XV 2018 – 2023 page, because one rear shock covers the wider model-year range. The front shocks are on the XV 2018 – 2020 page.

What about Subaru suspension returns?

All suspension return requests require before and after height measurements from the centre of the wheel to the guard at each corner. Final heights are estimates and change with the load your vehicle carries. If you’re not happy with the ride quality, check your tyre pressures and any roof or rear load, then contact us so we can help work out what’s needed.

Do you offer installation services for Subaru parts?

CalOffroad doesn’t offer installation, but we provide installation instructions and support to guide you through the job. If you’re not comfortable fitting the shocks yourself, use a qualified mechanic, and book a wheel alignment afterwards.
