Elevate Your Isuzu Dmax: The Ultimate Suspension Upgrades

The Isuzu D-MAX is one of Australia's most popular work and touring utes, and most owners load it with a tray, canopy, drawers or a van on the towbar. We stock over 80 D-MAX suspension parts from CalOffroad Platinum, CalOffroad Nitro Pro, Fox, Bilstein and Polyair, matched to how you use your ute.

Understanding Your Isuzu D-MAX

Every D-MAX uses independent front suspension with coil-over struts and leaf springs at the rear, but parts differ between generations. Choose yours:

Common D-MAX problems are rear sag under load, a harsh ride when the tray is empty, and a nose-down stance after fitting a bar and winch. The fix is usually matching front spring rate to the weight up front and rear leaf rate to the weight you carry every day.

Our Range of D-MAX Suspension Upgrades

  • D-MAX lift kits: complete 2-inch and 3-inch kits matched front and rear, including the CalOffroad Bilstein Series 2–3 inch kit for the mid 2020 on D-MAX and Tour Pack kits.
  • Shocks and struts: pre-assembled front struts and rear shocks from CalOffroad Nitro Pro, Fox and Bilstein.
  • Leaf springs: raised and heavy-duty rear leaf packs that carry a tray, canopy or towbar load without sagging.
  • Upper control arms: restore caster and camber after a front lift.
  • Diff drop kits: bring front CV angles back into range after a lift.
  • Greasable shackles: serviceable rear shackles and pins for a quieter rear end.
  • Airbags: Polyair airbags level the rear when you hitch up the van.

We also stock Rival 4x4 underbody protection and Safari snorkels for the D-MAX.

Choosing the Right Suspension Upgrade

Start with three questions: which generation is your D-MAX, how much weight do you carry every day, and how much lift do you want? Past a 2-inch lift, plan for upper control arms and a diff drop to keep your camber and CV angles in check. Lifts over 50mm usually need engineering approval, so check the rules in your state. Frequently Asked Questions About Isuzu D-MAX Suspension

What's the best suspension upgrade for a D-MAX?

It depends on the load you carry. For a lightly loaded touring D-MAX, a 2-inch lift kit with matched struts and rear shocks is the usual starting point. For a ute carrying a tray, canopy or van, choose heavy-duty rear leaf springs rated for that weight, and add airbags if you only tow now and then.

Do mid 2020 on D-MAX parts fit the older D-MAX?

No. The mid 2020 on D-MAX has different struts, springs and control arms from the 2012 – mid 2020 model. Shop mid 2020 on D-MAX suspension or 2012 – mid 2020 D-MAX suspension to see only the parts that fit.

Do D-MAX parts fit the MU-X?

Some front parts do, such as struts and upper control arms of the same generation. Rear parts don't, because the MU-X uses coil springs at the rear. Every listing shows its fitment.
